The Handmade Market and an Easter Egg Hunt

Happy Wednesday everyone! I’m busy working away on new illustrations for this Saturday where I will be participating in The Handmade Market. It is an awesome show that features so many talented designers from North Carolina and beyond. There will be over 40 designers showcasing their wares from jewelry, home goods, ceramics and some really cute accessories! I’m sure you would be able to find something for an upcoming graduate, Mother’s Day gift or something just for you!

For the kids, Raleigh’s biggest and best Easter Egg Hunt will also be going on in downtown Raleigh at Moore Square at different times. This is a FREE event with more than 30,000 hidden eggs, live music and balloons. There will be four different egg hunts, each divided into zones by age group, as well as separate zones for children with special needs. Hunts will take place at 11 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m., along with an Easter story reading at noon. Admission is also FREE for The Handmade Market and it takes place from 11 AM to 5 PM. Here are just a few of the artists that will be participating:

this weekend :: rain rain go away

Today was the official day that my husband and I were to leave for Crafty Feast down in Columbia, South Carolina and I have been so excited about this show for a couple of months now. It’s a huge event happening at the same time as the Indie Grits Film Festival and all week I’ve been working on new displays, new designs and some one-of-a-kind special pieces that were to make their debut on Saturday. It is with much sadness that Ever So Lovely will not be attending this show. All week we’ve been watching the weather and this Saturday there are several strong thunderstorms scheduled to roll into Columbia.

Add that into the equation of a four hour drive, this being an outside festival and the thunder and lightning portion – we thought it be best to sit this one out.  Then we have part three of rain – our kitchen window last week decided to leak some kinda bad when we had a storm here in Raleigh. YES. IT RAINED IN OUR KITCHEN. SO. NOT. HAPPY. So we’ve already met with a Contractor, ordered new windows for the downstairs to fix that leak and we are crossing our fingers that we won’t have a waterfall in our kitchen on Saturday. Our cats seemed to like it last time but I’d prefer not to have water on my kitchen floor if I have a choice. We’re hoping that over the next couple of weeks it won’t leak too terrible but it’s going to be a wait since our new windows are scheduled to arrive mid-May. Needless to say, I’m really upset and sad about not being in Columbia on Saturday because Debi Schadel who is behind Crafty Feast puts her whole heart and soul into everything she does and I know Saturday is going to be awesome despite Mother Nature’s plans. So with that being said, I’d like to introduce to you some of the fabulous talent that will be at Crafty Feast this weekend and if you are in the area please come out and support Crafty Feast!
