must have monday :: coffee stain art by Hong Yi
Happy Monday Lovelies! Today we are excited to bring you a very creative painting by artist Hong Yi. She created a portrait of actor Jay Chou (you might have seen him in last year’s Green Hornet movie) well, to say it’s amazing isn’t giving it enough credit…this is just down right mind blowing what she does with coffee. She used pure coffee with little water to end up getting the really dark tones throughout the portrait. We’re also including the full length video to see how she creates this beautiful work simply using a coffee cup, coffee and paper.

Jen Mann is a Canadian artist living just outside of Toronto. She attended OCAD U from 2005-2009, receiving her BFA in printmaking. Since then she has focused on painting and developed a large body of work, which explores the subconscious, and focuses on ideas of freedom, perceived beauty, identity and home.
